An Unsinkable X Jane/Finch documentary

You Can’t Heal What You Don’t Reveal

Created in collaboration with the Jane/Finch Centre and Finding Your HeART

this documentary centres young people speaking honestly about grief, justice involvement, being labeled, loving their community, and using creativity as resilience and leadership.

These stories were shared in trust.

They are not meant to be consumed and moved past.

They are meant to open something.

Black Canadians continue to face higher levels of psychological distress alongside stigma, racism, and limited access to culturally safe care.

In many communities, silence has functioned as protection. But silence can also become something heavy to carry alone.

Story offers another way.

When someone hears a story that feels familiar:

  • They feel less alone.

  • They find language for what they have carried.

  • They see strength where they were told there was deficit.

  • They begin to imagine healing as collective, not individual.

Story is a gateway to empathy, reflection, and community building.
