PSA with Sara Waisglass

Canadian celebrity Sara Waisglass (Netflix's hit show Ginny & Georgia, Degrassi: The Next Generation and Degrassi: The Next Class) speaks openly about the perils of social media-driven perfectionism in a new public service announcement (PSA) aimed at youth.

The spot, an initiative of Unsinkable, a charity founded by Canadian Olympian Silken Laumann, will hit social media feeds supported by youth influencers in time for Blue Monday (January 15): the saddest day of the year. Waisglass lends her talent, celebrity, and personal experience to confront the mental health challenges facing young people today.

🧀✨🧘‍♀️🍇 We came together to honour Mental Health Awareness Month alongside Bonanza Bites & Boards. It was a day filled with yoga, delicious bites, and genuine connections, offering a much-needed break from life’s hustle. The event, hosted with warmth and sincerity, provided a sanctuary for those seeking solace and rejuvenation.

A highlight of the day was a captivating keynote by our esteemed Unsinkable speaker, Asante Haughton, who shared profound insights on mental well-being. Guests left with a renewed sense of purpose and resilience, inspired by his words.

As we reflect on this experience, let’s remember to start each day with mindfulness. Consider asking yourself these three questions every morning:

    • What do I appreciate most in my life?

    • What is the most important thing that I get to do today?

    • What quality do I want to embody out in the world?

  • Step Above Stigma

Asante Haughton joins the Step Above Stigma panel - not just a conversation but a call to action for everyone to come together and play an active role in reshaping Canada's mental health landscape.
