This year’s Unsinkable campaign focuses on the power of connections. By featuring one poignant line from various storytellers and connecting them to create a poem that - in its stunning simplicity - has a raw beauty and emotion.

Fragments: Stories That Heal

The poem illustrates, in an artistic way, how any part of a storyteller’s story could be the part that resonates with someone else. It shows how we collectively benefit by the simple, brave act of storysharing.

We’re rewriting Canada’s mental health story: one fragment, one voice, one connection, and one step forward at a time. Together, we’re creating a future where every story matters, every person feels seen, and everyone can be Unsinkable.

featuring 14 raw and unfiltered stories from Canadians who are courageously sharing their lived experiences.

Stories That Heal

Despite growing awareness and resources, mental health care in Canada remains out of reach for many:

• 42% of Canadians have unmet mental health needs

• 20% face discrimination because of their condition

• 75% hesitate to disclose struggles at work due to stigma

  • "My time participating in the campaign with Unsinkable was a truly great experience, I met many incredible people with really cool stories, and I really enjoyed sharing my own story... Unsinkable gave me both the platform and the practice... and for that I am truly grateful."

    Brennan Jackson, Unsinkable Storyteller

  • "This campaign is a reminder that storytelling isn’t just an act of expression: it’s an act of courage. At Unsinkable, we know that by unmasking our struggles and speaking our truth, we not only heal ourselves, we heal each other. “Fragments” is a reflection of that belief and the heart of our mission."

Silken Laumann, four-time Olympian and founder of Unsinkable

  • “Knowing that people find strength from hearing the stories of others was inspiring... Beautiful, moving, and poetic is how I describe this creative. And it’s all thanks to the experiences shared by our storytellers"

Eva Polis, Executive Creative Director TBWA/Canada

  • "At Unsinkable, lived experience isn’t just part of what we do — it is the heart of who we are, Every story we share reflects the courage, resilience, and truth of our community... I’m deeply grateful to the storytellers who trusted us — your honesty is changing how people see themselves, and each other.”

Hailey Hechtman, Executive Director of Unsinkable

  • "I could feel the creativity brewing in the building as soon as I walked in, through the people, environment, and care taken to welcome us in. As a poet, I’m deeply appreciative of snippets/lines of language. On the pages we read from (while recording), I adored seeing the ‘poem’ of this project: a weaving together of short lines from each storyteller. It was a lovely representation of Unsinkable’s diverse community—so profoundly synchronous, despite being mostly digital. Somehow, our story fragments fit together like a ‘poem puzzle’ waiting to be written…waiting to be spoken…”

    Mikaela Brewer, Unsinkable Storyteller
