What is the legend of unsinkable?

🌊 ⛵️ 🛶

There is an endless supply of writing newsletters out there, mostly centred around “writing advice” for aspiring or current professional writers—those who write copy, technical pieces, business documents, fiction, journalism, novels, blogs, poetry, columns, lyrics, speeches, medical content, screenplays, academic papers, grants, and nonfiction.

But the purpose of finding words doesn’t need to be creating any of these forms.

Words can just be words—in any way that supports us or our people. And this is often the hardest part when we glance across the vast landscape of our lives and experiences.

WHAT IF THERE WAS A SPACE TO LEARN ABOUT THIS PROCESS—FINDING WORDS, ROOTED IN OUR STORIES AND EXPERIENCES, WITH NO EXPECTATION OF A FINISHED STORY, POEM, MEMOIR, ETC.?

I’m so glad you asked. :)

Every month, I’ll share a short newsletter here to guide you, offering one way in which I’ve learned how to both find and create stand-alone words, sentences, and phrases for everything that comes with living this human life.

Together, with this guidance, we’re going to write “The Legend of Unsinkable” with the words and phrases you find and create each month.

  • At the end of each newsletter, I’ll offer a prompt to which you can respond—a variation of “What happens next?”

  • At the beginning of each newsletter, I’ll include your responses from the previous newsletter, which will curate and continue a breathing legend of words and phrases you’ve lived, straight from our Unsinkable community: “The Legend of Unsinkable.”

  • Chapter 1 of “The Legend of Unsinkable” (12 Episodes) will run from April 2024 to April 2025, and then be compiled into book form!

  • Aside from the story of the legend, this content will only be available through the newsletter!

See you there. :)
