Mark Roach is a seasoned disability operations executive and award-winning workplace mental health advocate, recognized for leadership in psychological health and safety, culture, and engagement. As an out member of the 2SLGBTQI+ community, he is committed to creating inclusive workplaces where everyone feels safe and valued.
Beginning his career as a registered nurse, Mark transitioned into case management and rehabilitation consulting, supporting individuals recovering from traumatic injury or illness. At Sun Life, he scaled the Western Canada disability team from 70 to over 160 employees, built a national mental health team, and championed diversity initiatives—earning a CEO Award and recognition from Canadian HR Reporter.
Today, as Vice President of Psychological Injury & Continuous Improvement at WCB Nova Scotia, Mark leads services for workers impacted by psychological injuries, driving operational excellence and data-driven improvements for sustainable return-to-work outcomes. He also volunteers with Unsinkable, a mental health organization amplifying lived experience through storytelling to foster resilience and empathy.
